OLDER DRIVER ASSESSMENT (ODA)

Drive with confidence. Stay independent. Trust LicencePlus

In New South Wales, drivers aged 85 years and over must successfully complete an on-road driving assessment every two years to retain an unrestricted licence.

How the Assessment Helps

An Older Driver or Aged assessment helps senior drivers maintain their driving independence by assessing their ability to drive safely and comply with NSW licensing requirements. Conducted by Transport for NSW (TfNSW) accredited Older Driver Assessors, these assessments provide a convenient and supportive alternative to attending busy testing centres.

Meeting NSW Licencing Requirements - Private assessments meet this mandatory requirement and are conducted by accredited TfNSW Older Driver Assessors.

Why Customers Choose LicencePlus

Shorter Waiting Times - Unlike Service NSW testing centres, where appointment availability can be limited, LicencePlus Driving School offers flexible scheduling and earlier assessment dates to suit your convenience.

Familiar Driving Environment - Assessments generally begin from your home and are conducted on roads, intersections, and routes you regularly use, helping you feel more comfortable and confident.

Convenience of you own vehicle – You can use your own private roadworthy vehicle for your assessment in your local area without the need to travel to a testing centre.

Pre-Assessment Driving Lesson - Before the assessment, LicencePlus instructors provide a driving lesson to help you understand what to expect during the on-road assessment. This session identifies any unsafe habits or driving practices that may need improvement and provides constructive feedback to help you drive with greater confidence.

Reduced Stress - Private assessments eliminate the pressure of busy Service NSW testing centres and provide a relaxed, supportive environment tailored to the needs of senior drivers.

Supportive and Experienced Assessors - LicencePlus assessors are TfNSW accredited Older Driver Assessors who are specifically trained to work with senior drivers. They understand the importance of patience, clear communication, and providing professional guidance throughout the assessment process.

Older Driver Assessment

The process of Older Driver Assessment is carried out for the Class C licensing. People aged 75 years or over that need a complete driving assessment after getting the recommendation from their medical practitioner.

If the age of the driver is 85 years or more and already have a Class C licence also need to pass the driving assessment test after 2 years to make sure that their license remains intact.

The driver assessment is being conducted by a testing officer associated with Roads and Maritime Services, NSW. Otherwise, an Accredited Older Driver Assessor associated with Roads and Maritime can also conduct the assessment.

At LicensePlus Driving School, we have an accredited older driver assessor working for us and helping the old aged drivers of Australia.
